SOIL FERTILITY MANAGEMENT

ABOUT THE COMPACT

The Soil Fertility Enabler works in synergy with TAAT commodity crops compacts and other enablers for effectiveness in scaling up agriculture input-based technologies for accelerated productivity growth, resilience and improved livelihoods.

Soil fertility activities are carried out under three components:

  • creation of an enabling environment —for a responsive agro-input dealer system and access to finance to support the scaling up of agri-input technologies;
  • regional technology delivery infrastructure and;
  • deployment of appropriate and proven soil fertility technologies (Fertilizer Deep Placement (FDP), Microdose (MD) and balanced fertilizers recommendations (BFR) to support the commodity crops compacts

The Soil Fertility Enabler, during the three years of the project (2018-2021), is targeting to reach at least 1,783,000 farmers with technologies and 3,070 agro dealers in 21 selected and satellites countries. The success stories reported here over the last 6 months period cover:
